Know what you’re buying.

Good photos help. The right questions help more. Use these checks when comparing clothing, equipment and protection.

A condition label is a summary, not a substitute for measurements, close-ups or compatibility details.

Fit and compatibility

A label or model name is only the beginning. For clothing, request actual measurements. For packs and pouches, compare dimensions and attachment points with your own kit. For radios, check connectors and compatibility before assuming they will work together.

  • Jackets and boots: ask for measurements, not just the marked size.
  • Packs and pouches: check capacity, fastenings and attachment method.
  • Eye protection: confirm the lens marking and the impact standard your site requires before use.

Condition and photos

“Good” means little without a view of the areas that wear first. Ask for clear, current photos of the actual item if the image or description leaves anything uncertain.

  • Look at soles, cuffs, seams, straps, closures and lenses as appropriate.
  • Confirm what is included: batteries, chargers, inserts or spare parts should never be assumed.
  • For protective equipment, do not treat a photograph as proof of safety certification.

Who is selling?

Chrono labels each listing as a private seller or trader because that distinction matters. Check the seller’s status and the applicable consumer guidance before making a purchase; rights can differ depending on who you buy from.

Before you decide

Compare the asking price with the item’s condition, missing parts and the cost of getting it to you. Save a shortlist on this device, then revisit the details you still need to confirm. Saving a listing does not reserve it.
